Washington Redskins QB Alex Smith's wife shares a touching video about his recovery

One year has passed since Washington Redskin quarterback Alex Smith suffered a terrible foot injury in a game against the Houston Texans, which put him at risk for his NFL career.

Smith suffered from a fracture of the tibia and fibula, struggled with infection, and once doctors reportedly decided to amputate his leg. He also needed 17 operations to even get to a place where he could remove his leg brace, according to the Washington Times.

Elizabeth Smith, Alex’s wife, showed on Tuesday a heartbreaking video showing her husband recovering from her sitting in the hospital waiting room and her husband recovering at home. The video was broadcast exactly one year after the devastating trauma of Alex Smith.
