Second ‘NCIS: Executive Producer New Orleans Dismissed after HR Complaint

The executive producer of NCIS: New Orleans, Adam Targum, was fired after reviewing the complaint and investigating the personnel department, a situation-aware person told TheWrap.

According to Vulture, the complaint was filed earlier this month, when Targum was fired on January 25th. Sources told Vulture that the former EP, which was second in command for showrunner Christopher Silber, is known for his bullying on the set, and the personnel department was informed that several members of the writing staff had problems with Targum

CBS rejected TheWrap's request for comment on the nature of the complaint and who filed it.

Targum’s exit from the show follows the exit of Brad Kern’s former NCIS: New Orleans show, which came out last October after the third investigation into misconduct, and the general investigation of corporate culture at CBS after the former head of Les Moonves was expelled because sexual misconduct. ,

“We stopped Brad Kern’s role as a consultant producer at NCIS: New Orleans and his overall deal with the studio,” said a studio spokesman in a statement during Kern’s departure.

Earlier, Kern twice conducted an internal investigation in the studio, but for a third investigation, caused by further reports of harassment and verbal abuse against women, CBS brought in an external lawyer.

The new investigation began shortly after CBS Studios signed a new two-year agreement with the producer and decided to keep him as an adviser on procedural matters, despite having been replaced as a showrunner.

Last summer, CBS Entertainment boss Kelly Cal said he was confident that the investigation would "come to the truth" on this issue.

“CBS Studios investigated Brad Kern in 2016,” Cal said then. “After this investigation, measures were taken, and since then there have been no complaints. I’m concerned that messages continue to appear in the press. "
