A major city center road will remain partly closed after a void was found in a large sink hole which appeared in the middle of the street.
Dale Street was closed by workers at around 7pm, on Friday, after the large hole appeared shortly after rush hour.
Merseyside Police and council engineers were called to the scene, and the slip road from Byrom Street towards Dale Street and Water Street was then blocked off with traffic cones and plastic barriers.
However today Liverpool City Council has announced the road will remain closed after a void was found in the sink hole.

The tweet reads: "Part of Dale Street from Birkenhead Tunnel entrance to Hatton Garden will be closed until early next week.
"A void’s been discovered two meters down and the cause needs to be identified before it’s repaired.
"Hatton Garden’s been made two-way to allow access to businesses."
Pictures and video taken at the scene show how the hole opened just outside The Excelsior pub on Johnson Street.
Metal sheet fencing has been placed around the hole, which is also surrounded by traffic cones, fences and a road closed sign.
