UEFA does not see the reasons for the transfer of the match "Vorskla" – "Arsenal"
The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) said that the introduction of martial law in Ukraine would not prevent the holding of the Europa League game Vorskla – Arsenal. The game of the 5th round of the group stage will be held on Thursday, November 29, in Poltava.
“UEFA confirms that the match will be held on Thursday in accordance with the planned schedule. As with all matches under the auspices of UEFA, all the necessary security measures will be taken,” the organization quotes AP.
Today, November 26, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed a decree on the decision to impose martial law in the country. Recall, on November 25, Russia unexpectedly launched an offensive in Azov, attacking the Ukrainian ships MBAK Berdyansk, RBC Yana Kapu and MBAK Nikopol. We showed video, like a ship of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation rammed a Ukrainian tug. After that, the aggressor still opened fire, resulting in injuries to six Ukrainian sailors. There was also the seizure of the vessel – more than 20 sailors in hostages.
We previously told what will happen to football in Ukraine if martial law is introduced. FFU and UPL are waiting for the parliament’s decision.
