The HDBlog Italia craftsmen studied the electronic “stuffing” of the Sony PlayStation Classic game console – a smaller version of the original PlayStation, which debuted about a quarter of a century ago.
The size of the new PlayStation Classic is about 45% smaller than the dimensions of the original 1994 console. The kit includes a miniature console, two wired controllers and an HDMI cable for connecting to a TV.
An autopsy revealed that the PlayStation Classic uses a MediaTek MT8167A processor with four ARM Cortex-A35 processing cores (up to 1.5 GHz) and a PowerVR GE8300 graphics unit.
The console carries 1 GB of DDR3-1866 RAM (Samsung K4B4G1646E-BYMA) and an eMMC 5.1 flash module with a capacity of 16 GB (Samsung KLMAG1JETD-B041). The HDMI port provides image output at resolutions up to 720p.
Sony PlayStation Classic will go on sale in Russia in December at a price of about 8999 rubles. The device will be supplied with two dozen pre-installed games, details of which can be found in our material.
