Picture in Picture mode and other changes

Google has released a release version of the Chrome 72 browser, as well as a stable version of the free Chromium project. In this build, the developers paid attention to safety and usability.

Now the setting for automatic field filling is divided into several sections: for passwords, for addresses and financial data. By default, protection is launched against attempts to execute third-party code within Chrome processes. The exception here is Microsoft digitally signed processes.

For sites with TLS 1.0 / 1.1, a special warning is now displayed. It is planned that support for the old version of TLS will end in Chrome 81 in 2020, although it will be possible to return it by the end of 2021.

There was a shortcut for a quick transition to the account settings in Google services, and the version for Android had the opportunity to add third-party search engines. Finally, it became possible to view the video in the “picture-in-picture” mode, which has long been implemented in Opera, Yandex Browser and other projects.

Also added are numerous enhancements for developers and support for new APIs. And in the JavaScript V8 engine, Embedded builtins mode is enabled by default, which allows to save RAM. In general, a number of JavaScript parsing and processing operations are sped up. In addition, 58 vulnerabilities were fixed in the build, some of which allowed arbitrary code to be executed in the system outside the sandbox environment.
