The epidemiologists of the Regional Health Authority (RÚVZ) in Banská Bystrica recorded an almost 11 percent increase in acute respiratory diseases (ARO) compared with the previous week. Of these diseases, almost 12% of cases occurred with influenza and similar disease (CHPO) compared with the previous week.
“Compared to the same period last year, the prevalence of ARO this year is 11 percent, and CHPO – up to 85 percent,” said Maria Tolney, a department spokeswoman.
In general, doctors in the Banská Bystrica region reported 46,431 patients on ARC in the 46th calendar week, which is an incidence of almost 1,430 people per 100,000 inhabitants in the treatment of doctors who reported this week. Influenza and similar diseases occurred in 379 cases with an incidence of more than 112 per 100,000 inhabitants.
The largest number of patients with ARC in absolute numbers is in the areas of Lucenec, Zvolen, Banská Bystrica and Revuka. Influenza and similar diseases are most common in the regions of Lucenec, Poltar, Banska Bystrica and Banska Stiavnica.
Regarding the age of the disease, ARO and CHPO in absolute numbers are most susceptible to the age group of the economically active population, primary school students and young children under five years of age. The lowest incidence of these diseases at this time among the elderly.
