Mali Telecommunications Company (Sotelma), the country's current operator and subsidiary of Maroc Telecom Group, launched its 4G network in Mali since Tuesday, November 27th.
It was thanks to the ceremony organized at the Hotel de l & # 39; Amitié, chaired by the Minister of Digital Economy and Communications Aruna Modibo Touré. in the presence of the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister, Ms. Sidibe Zamilatu Cissé, President of CNPM, Mamadou Sinsi Coulibaly, company officials and several other guests.
In his opening speech, Malitel CEO Adel Aziz Biddin stressed the importance of the step taken by his company: “The launch of 4G Malitel comes from a global strategy to improve our services and meet the needs of our customers. Our goal is to create conditions for launching – to offer the best quality of service and expand 4G not only in Bamako, but also in other regions, and we are proud of the results achieved, and you will see yourself in the coming days. "
According to the head of Malitel, the provision of this technological gem is part of a global vision of continuous improvement, materialized by tremendous investment, technically, financially and commercially. “The best example is our 4G, which not only relies on fiber-optic connected equipment for unprecedented transmission quality, but also benefits from the broadband Internet bandwidth we have grown to allow us to meet the expectations of our demanding customers. “For Abdel Aziz Biddine 4G will enrich the catalog of offers and extended services for all categories of customers. Everything that corresponds to the vision of society: always offer more and offer better, look to the future and carefully study the mountains to rise tomorrow.
“As a major player in Mali’s economy, our vision is steady, and our efforts sincerely provide the best delivery, reduce the digital divide and maximize our network. Our actions are part of continuity, and our approach is naturally a voluntarist. Pointed to the managing director of Malitel.
He took the opportunity to express his thanks and gratitude to Malitel for the authorities, in particular, the Ministry of Supervision and the Ministry of Finance.
After him, the Minister of Digital Economy and Communications was pleased with the quality of the work of the company's managers. Before reminding them of the goals and priorities of the government.
According to Minister Toure, the regulatory text, in addition to the renewal of the Sotelma 4G license, establishes 4G coverage obligations, as well as obligations related to the quality of service. “The government decided to provide a 4G Sotelma license in order to ensure fairness and healthy competition in the national telecommunications market. There should be no gap between us in the capital and in the most remote areas. Today, the phone should be accessible to all. This, according to Minister Toure, is the goal of the President of the Republic: coverage of the country and quality of service. That is why he will say that providing this 4G will enable these goals to be achieved, since it will allow Mitalitel to offer consumers cost-effective and reliable quality services.
Recall that this award was ratified on July 19, 2017 at a regular meeting of the Council of Ministers chaired by Abdoulaye Idriss Maiga, then the Prime Minister, in order to disclose the cost of this license in the amount of 100 billion CFA francs.
