Several airlines launched new flights this November, with the goal of connecting different regions of Colombia and abroad.
On weekends, Avianca activated the operation Bogota-Chicago, which was the first airline to directly connect the two cities. "This is the eighth place in the United States that the airline offers to its travelers from Bogota," the statement said.
The AV82 train took off from El Dorado International Airport on Saturday at 12:35 and made Avianca the only airline that directly connects Bogota with the city of Chicago, in the United States.
Weekly, four frequencies will be operated on Airbus A319 aircraft (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday), with a capacity of 120 passengers, 12 in business class and 108 in the economy. The new route will operate from Terminal A at the O'Hare International Airport in Chicago.
This new flight will allow Chicago passengers to connect with a wide network of cities in Latin America offered from Bogota, such as: Quito and Guayaquil (Ecuador), Lima (Peru), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Santiago de Chile and increases the chances of reaching Colombian destinations such as Cali, Medellin, Barranquilla, Pereira and Cartagena and others. Similarly, passengers from these cities will be able to access Chicago from Bogota.
Also on Saturday, Aeromexico began working on the Rionegro-Cancún season with two weekly frequencies (Saturday and Sunday).
The flight is serviced by Embraer 190 aircraft for 99 passengers and will be available until April 28, 2019.
In their Twitter account, Rionegro representatives at José Maria Córdoba Airport @AeropuertoMDE noted that: “With Cancun, there are eleven international direct routes that connect us to the world. That's how we live today in the inaugural flight! @Aeromexico. "
On November 13, Viva Air launched its Medellin-Lima flight, of which 3 weekly flights depart on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and with which he expects to transport more than 40,000 customers in his first year of operation.
On November 9, Spirit launched the new Orlando-Medellin-Orlando direct route, from Jose Maria Cordova International Airport to Rionegro, thus providing the best service for all passengers and not allowing those who use this route to stop at other airports.
Finally, on Friday, November 2, the direct route Easyfly Quibdó (Airplan airport and Cali) started operating.
