Switzerland – Belgium 5-2
Belgium led 2-0 away from Switzerland and seemed to spin into a group victory in the national league, but then the Swiss woke up and did not survive until they went 5-2.
Before the final of the Sunday group in Lucerne, Belgium lost only once in its 31st final, and it was in the semifinal against France this year in the World Cup. Number one in the FIFA rankings hoped to provide the group owner, but almost miraculously, Switzerland turned with a score of 0-2 to 5-2.
Thus, the Swedes took the 2nd group in Division A in the national league. This also means that they are moving on to the semifinals, which will be played in June next year.
Already after 66 seconds the first match was scored. Niko Elvedi from the Swiss defense completely missed the crossover on his own 16-meter. Thorgan Hazard widened the lead to 1-0.
A quarter later, the Belgians came to a counterattack when Hazard received the ball on the right. Borussia Monchengladbach quickly pounced on the ball and from 16 yards shot Eldvay and goalkeeper Yand Sommera in a long corner.
With the score 2-0, the Belgians looked comfortable, but after 25 minutes he barely played the other way. First came out Ricardo Rodriguez, who easily gave a penalty kick in the gate for Thibault Courtois.
The Swedes pressed hard, and after 39 minutes they were rewarded for the battle. Rodriguez slipped into Liverpool player Xherdan Shaqiri, headed for Haris Seferovic. The Benfica striker easily places the equalizer.
Two minutes before the break, the turn was a fact. Edimilson Fernandes got the ball on the right, played 45 degrees to Seferovic, who beautifully placed the ball in the longest corner. It was his 16th national team, scoring in 59 matches.
With that in mind, the Swiss got even more blood on their teeth, and their eyes hoped for a group victory. One scored to push Belgium off the table. At the 61st minute, Shaqiri broke through on the right flank, making an account of Elvedi, making a score of 0 – 1, scoring 4-2.
Five minutes before the end, Seferovich became a big hero of the match when he nodded 5-2 and scored his first hat-trick in the national team shirt.
Iceland moved from group to division B with zero points and -12 in goal difference.
