The decisive day for Alitalia. After stopping Atlantia, convinced that the conditions have not yet ripened for the company to join the plan to save the flag campaign, the board of directors of Ferrovie dello Stato will soon meet. A preliminary board is scheduled for 11 a.m., followed by a board of directors that will consider the sudden turn of the Atlantic.

No atlanticThe motorway group led by the Benetton family was still taking time and at the end of the board announced that it had assembled on November 19, that “at the moment, the necessary conditions for joining the consortium are complete. Presentation of a possible binding offer for Alitalia. ” Thus, the date of November 21 will not be the last to give life to a consortium capable of taking over the company, despite the latent optimism shown by the Minister of Economic Development, confident in the "good steps forward", which, however, they still seem to have materialized.

The risk of an eighth extension. In this regard, the FS could be asked to provide the eighth extension to members of the Commission, who, however, limited access to interim credit funds (400 million guaranteed by the government) at the presentation of the consortium. Conditions that Atlantia does not consider sufficient to submit a proposal are conditions repeatedly confirmed by the company, as it made it possible to evaluate investments, starting with an insufficient business plan. Today, only Delta’s commitment lies on the table — along with the FS, Atlantis itself and the Ministry of Economy — 10% of the capital with investments, which the Americans confirmed in the amount of $ 100 million. USA.

Lufthansa Terms. Instead, Lufthansa, for whom, obviously, at that moment the Italian group favors latite. The German company once again showed itself decisive in its line: no Germans are willing to buy shares in this Alitalia. If and when the carrier will be reorganized, if and when in practice costs and jobs will be drastically reduced, it will be possible to talk again. But at the moment, for a German company, the solution to this issue is solely for commercial partnerships, and not for equity investments (even the estimated double compared to Delta, up to 200 million euros).
Therefore, Delta remains the only true international bidder, although it has not revised its proposal upward. And this is not enough for Atlantis. An international partner has yet to be found.
