Person United States who provided medical care in the Congo may have been exposed to the virus ebola and is supervised at the Nebraska Medical Center.
On Saturday, the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha confirmed that it is keeping a person in a safe place inaccessible to other patients or the public. Spokesperson Taylor Wilson said the man arrived on Saturday afternoon.
The medical center did not provide additional information corresponding to the person’s privacy request. The institution also did not identify the person as a patient and did not report when he was in Africa.
Local authorities indicated that the person is not sick or showing symptoms ebolabut will remain under observation for up to two weeks.
The medical center has a department of biocontrol, and in 2014 he treated three patients with Ebola.
