The Telecommunications Sub-Secretariat (Subtel) has launched a contingency plan and monitoring for the new year so that users have constant communication, urging companies to check the status of their networks to ensure good service.
Like every year, on the night of December 31 and in the early morning hours of January 1, the telephone networks are saturated, which prevents instant communication with relatives and friends who are far away, which causes discomfort for telecommunications users.
Faced with this recurring scenario, the Telecom Secretariat decided to activate the network monitoring plan during this celebration.
“We asked companies to activate their contingency plans so that they constantly monitor their networks while celebrating the new year, so that they can quickly respond to the failure of any service, be it voice or data. At Subtel, we focus on protecting those users of telecommunications services who need to be constantly connected in order for them to receive the service according to their needs, ”said Felipe Aliaga, head of the fiscalization department.
From Subtel it is recommended, yes, do not try to call just for the new year, because of high demand.
“From 00:00 to 01:00, January 1 is the peak traffic schedule for calls, so the ideal call is sooner or later,” they said.
For this reason, they urged not to call again, as in this situation more networks will be overloaded.
Consequently, they pointed out that the best thing for that night is using data through applications such as WhatsApp or social networks that have fast feedback, especially in places with large crowds. Even Subtel recommended creating “groups” to make the task easier.
Finally, he urged not to abandon traditional text messages, since they have a very high efficiency. “In fact, this is the best way to communicate in the new year,” they emphasized at Subtel.
