The investigative police arrested a man who caught foreign workers who quoted in Chile in order to offer them the early lag of their pension funds to deceive them.
According to preliminary information, to clarify the fraud, the accused indicated that he would lose the money if he left the country and did not have a professional or technical degree.
Later, he was presented to the notaries of Santiago with falsified documents in order to be able to make final control of the AFPs and, thus, withdraw money and save them.
“Yesterday an inspection was carried out, the origin of which was based on a complaint filed by a notary from a notary in Santiago, given that a citizen of Ecuador appeared to check some documents of other notary offices,” said the inspector. IDP Juan Jose Gonzalez.
“The purpose of this subject was to ensure compliance with certain requirements of the Law 18.156, according to which foreigners should be able to rent pension funds,” said Gonzalez.
"When conducting consultations and investigations, it was possible to find the accused, a citizen of Ecuador, who presented these documents, proceeding with their arrest," the detective added.
The man was arrested on charges of forgery and malicious use of a private tool.
