China is going to "put a foot" on the hidden side of the moon thanks to a new study

China announced that the Chinese probe Chang & # 39; e-4, successfully launched on December 8, went into the planned orbit on Sunday morning and is preparing for the moon for the first time in the hidden sector of the moon. According to CNSA, the Chinese probe entered an elliptical lunar orbit from the perilun about 15 kilometers and apoluno about 100 kilometers at 8:55 (Beijing time).

After Chang & # 39; e-4 entered lunar orbit on December 12, the ground control center in Beijing twice cut the probe's orbit and checked the communication line between the probe and the satellite Kechyao artificial relay operating in halo orbit around the second Lagrange point L2 of the Earth-Moon system.

The space engineers also checked the imaging tools and range finders on the probe to prepare for landing. For its part, this body clarified that the control center will select the correct time when the probe will be located on the surface of the moon.

  • On December 8, China successfully launched the probe Chang & # 39; e-4 on a Long March 3B rocket to explore the hidden sector of the natural satellite of the Earth. It is assumed that this probe – named after the goddess of the moon in Chinese mythology – will complete its journey on January 4, when it is located in the crater of von Karman.
