Sega just announced that pre-registration is open for the upcoming Revolve8 game in the Play Store.
Revolve8 is a real-time strategy game that happens in the fictional world of Imago. This is the world of folklore and fairy tales, so expect to see rethought versions of Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Sinbad, Snow White and many others.
Wars are fought every 100 years in Imago, where the winners can rewrite their stories and become famous. You fight these battles with a deck of eight cards that contain different classes and skills with different effects and weaknesses.
You only have three minutes to destroy the enemy tower. This may not seem like much time, but the nature of the game in real time should allow players to do their job.
Even more exciting are some of the names attached to Revolve8. Senior producer Masayoshi Kikuchi previously worked on the TV series "Yakuza", while character designer Koji Igarashi is known for his work on the Castlevania series. Finally, sound engineer Yasunori Mitsuda previously worked on Chrono Trigger and Xenogears.
Revolve8 will be launched for the first time on January 17 in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. Then the game will go to Japan on January 22. Finally, the game will begin on February 5 in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, the UK, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Turkey, South Africa, and more.
From what we can extract, Revolve8 is a free game. We don’t know what the in-app purchases look like, but the apparent lack of an in-game energy meter is encouraging.
