Officials: a measles case confirmed in Clark County; warning issued | Las Vegas Local Top News Headlines



LAS VEGAS, Nevada (FOX5) – The Southern Nevada Health District confirmed a measles case from overseas in Southern Nevada and warned residents of Clark County on Thursday afternoon.

Health officials said testing confirmed this case on Monday, December 24th, making it the first confirmed case of measles in Clark County since 2015. According to SNHD, an adult patient has previously been vaccinated with a history of international travel.

Due to the fact that measles is very contagious, health workers warned everyone who visited any of the places listed below, from Monday 10 December to Tuesday 18 December, to contact their doctor and check the status of immunization. Anyone who has measles symptoms should also contact their physician before entering a medical facility to take appropriate measures to prevent the spread of the disease, according to SNHD.
