Jeremy Lin (Raptors & # 39;) becomes the first Asian-American to be crowned NBA champ – National

The NBA championship this year was the first event not only for Toronto, but also for point guard Toronto Raptors Jeremy Lin.

When the buzzer sounded on Thursday evening, the Predators became the champions of 2019, and Lin became the first Asian-American player in history to win the crown.

On Monday, a victory parade in the Raptors NBA is scheduled in downtown Toronto.

While he played only 27 minutes in the postseason — and less than a minute in the final — Lin returned fans, known as Linsanity, to Toronto when he was signed in February.

Lin shared some of his celebrations after playing on social networks, including the moment when his mother held the trophy of Larry O. Brian in the NBA Championship.

On Twitter, he expressed sincere thanks.

Earlier this year, Lin described pride in his heritage, but acknowledged that it is not always easy.

“I used to run away from it, because that's all anyone ever wanted to label me … It was like,“ Oh, he is Asian, he is Asian, he is Asian, ”he told the Canadian press.

"I really wanted to just represent the Asians and do it right, I hope, and do everything possible with that."

Fans celebrate throughout Canada as the Raptors captures the first ever NBA title with 114-110 victories over the Warriors

Lin is one of the players named “world champions” who led the Canadian team to victory.

Serge Ibaka, a center who nailed 15 points in Game 6, hails from Congo.

On Thursday, the Predators played a tough game with the ruling dynasty of the Warriors Golden State. The Toronto team eventually became the first outside the United States to win the NBA title with a final score of 114-110.
