Inter Milan will have to play two games of the A series behind closed doors after serious events in their game against Napoli in San Siro on Wednesday, the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) said on Thursday.

An Inter Milan fan died, and four Napoli fans were injured before the A series match, and there were also allegations of racist singing in San Siro.

A 35-year-old supporter was urgently taken to the hospital for emergency surgery after he was hit by a van, but later died, while in a separate incident four Napoli fans were slaughtered about an hour before the game, when ultras parties.

The atmosphere during the match remained hostile, as Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti demanded to suspend the game because of allegedly racist singing in defense of defender Kalida Koulibali.

FIGC also confirmed that Series A games will continue this weekend after FIGC President Gabriel Gravina had previously proposed to suspend Series A after the violence in San Siro.

Gravina said Sky Sports Italy: “Saturday will be played, there will be regular matches. Championship will not stop.

“The following games will be played, a decision taken in agreement with all the offices of the Federation. We do not stop against those who want to pollute our world. ”

On accusations of racism in San Siro, Gravina added: “The line must be very tough, but here I invite everyone to show respect for the roles.

“We are grateful to the Ministry of the Interior for what they are doing to ensure the safety of the events, as well as to the police, who have already arrested three subjects.

"I have to worry about sports, and what is negatively manifested is the racist chorus against Kulibali."

Mayor of Milan Giseppa Sala apologized to Coulibaly for abuses, asking for a 27-year-old forgiveness.

“The fighting aimed at Kulibaly was shameful,” said Sala.

“A shameful act in relation to a true athlete, who proudly wears his skin color.

“I apologize to Kalidou Coulibaly on my own behalf and on behalf of the inhabitants of Milan, who testify that we are brothers even in these difficult times.”

Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini said he would convene an emergency meeting in the new year.
