Edmonton Oilers claims that Valentin Zykov refused

The oilers plunged into a conductor for failure to add some depth to their wings. The team said that Valentine Zykov refused to give up the hurricanes of Caroline.

Zykov was originally drafted by LA Kings in the second round of 2013, and then he was bargained with Carolina Hurricanes in the final deal with Chris Verstegel in 2016. He is big, strong, a winger who uses his size to succeed down and in front of the net. He also has good personnel and high-class skills.

Zykov, 6 & # 39; 1-inch winger from Russia, put up really good numbers in AHL, but at the moment he hasn’t translated into the NHL. Last year, he scored 33 goals and scored 54 points in 63 games for Charlotte Checkers, good for most of the team in goals and second for points. He also scored three goals and seven points in 10 games with Caroline in the NHL last season.

He is on a two-year deal with a hit of $ 675,000, so there is almost no risk to this requirement. Zykov, given his skill and success in the AHL, is the one who can catch fire if he plays in the right situation here. If it works, he will bargain for a hit. If not, then it can be discarded to failure, and the team can try again with someone else. Maybe Zykov is with Ryan Spooner, like wings around JJ Khaira, and let it be the Connor McDavid line with double shifts occasionally.

I think Patrick Russell, who does not require bounce, will be sent back to the AHL Bakersfield to make room for Zykov. I would like Zykov to take the first six, but I don’t know which of Jesse Puljyarvi, Alex Chiasson or Drake Kaggiula, I’ll choose this combination now.

I wrote about Zykov’s acquisition at WWYDW earlier this week, Christian Pagnani suggested that Oilers should demand him yesterday when he refused, and Dusty Nilson spoke about him yesterday in Inside The Nation.
