The Bulgarian national football team took the 29th place in the first season of the League of Nations. The ratings from the top 30 countries provided Bulgaria with the third place in the qualifying draw for the European Championship in 2020.

Three victories, two draws and one defeat, Peter Khubchev won second place in the third group of the third division in the new UEFA tournament. Citizens scored 11 points and stayed two points behind Norway, which won the promotion for the second division.

With seven points against the teams that took the first and the third places in the group – Norway and Cyprus, Bulgaria finished the League of Nations as the best second team in the second division. (The points against the latter were not considered for this rating).

Although this is the first place, the Hubchev team is likely to play in the final playoffs in March 2020, if it cannot qualify for European qualifiers.

Euro 2020

The draw for the European qualification will be held December 2 in Dublin. 55 teams will be divided into ten groups. Games will be held from March 21 to November 19, 2019. The first two teams in each group will qualify for the European Championship, which will be held in 12 countries from June 12 to July 12, 2020.

Bulgaria will be located in the third urn along with Norway, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey, Ireland, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Finland and Israel. These are teams with which people cannot get into a draw.

The first two draws will be Portugal, the Netherlands, England, Switzerland, France, Croatia, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Germany, Poland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Iceland, Russia, Sweden, Ukraine, Wales and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The fourth urn – Hungary, Romania, Greece, Albania, Montenegro, Cyprus, Estonia, Slovenia, Lithuania and Georgia. Macedonia, Kosovo, Belarus, Luxembourg, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Gibraltar and the Faroe Islands are among the fifth.

Six teams – Latvia, Liechtenstein, Andorra, Malta and San Marino – will occupy six positions in the League of Nations.

Final playoffs

After qualifying there will be four quotas for the European Championship, which will be played in the final fours in four divisions of the League of Nations. They will be in March 2020.

The winners of the League of Nations participate in these playoffs (16 teams in total), but only if they do not apply for European,

Most of the teams from the first two divisions will already have discounts for Euro 2020 already in qualifying, which will leave a lot of empty seats in the playoffs.

They will be busy following in the League of Nations and, if necessary, teams from the lower divisions.

This will probably be for Bulgaria in its 29th position.

The big advantage of the teams that won their teams of the Nation League is that they cannot play with the top division rivals in the playoffs. Bulgaria is likely to be in the last four in the second division, where it could potentially meet with stronger teams.
