The 19-year-old, identified only as Adele, was arrested after buying a PlayStation 4 for only 9 euros, equivalent to $ 37, at a supermarket in France. In Brazil, the same product costs an average of 1,700 rubles.
The establishment was equipped with a box that allows customers to weigh and pay for their purchases. Adele changed the label of the device to the label of the product section of fruits and vegetables and managed to take an electronic one, which cost 37 times more than the amount paid by him.
The next day, satisfied with the success of his plan, the young man returned to the same supermarket to repeat the feat, but was eventually arrested by the guards at the scene. After the police took him away, he justified himself by intending to sell the PlayStation to buy a train ticket to Nice, his hometown.
The incident occurred in September last year in the city of Montbeliard in eastern France. Adele was charged with robbery, but did not appear before the court for a hearing. Last week, he was sentenced to four months in prison.
