The number of children aged 0 to 14 who died of cancer decreased by 13.4% between 2006 and 2016. The data was obtained from the Ministry of Health, in the Mortality Information System, and was released on Wednesday (28).
According to this folder, in 2006 in this age group there were 2,222 child deaths. Ten years later, the number dropped to 1,924 deaths. The number of deaths among children under the age of one year decreased by 27.8%.
Among children aged one to four years, the number of deaths has decreased by 9%, and between the ages of five and 14 years old – by 13.4%.
