Motorola RazrFlexible phone screen from Motorola arrives in Brazil only in January 2020, but Half bit I had a taste of what will happen next: I had the opportunity to try it for an hour, and among the various open and closed movements, I tell my first impressions of the next pet.
Right, the look is impressive. It starts from a stylishly designed box designed to work as a speaker, and to an auxiliary case that looks like a box of a pair of glasses. The Big Star is an extended version of the old Razr V3, one of the most classic gadgets of all time. It is still referred to today as a design that many consumers would like to have back, compact and conveniently fit in their pockets.
The new Motorola Razr is bigger and heavier than the V3, but the visual identity is from the lower spine, which houses the digital player, speaker, microphone and antennas, to the upper and lower curves. Screen, 6.2-inch P-OLED and aspect ratio 21 : 9, same as movie screens.
Closed, you have a 2.7-inch G-OLED screen protected by an interactive Gorilla Glass called Quick View, which displays notifications and allows you to perform some smart actions (more details below). The 16-megapixel main camera is located just below the screen and is suitable for selfies rather than a 5-megapixel internal camera, which is enough for video conferencing, according to Motorola.
The news is a flexible screen that is not fixed to the panel. Unlike Samsung and Huawei, Motorola opted to use a feature called Zero Gap, which allows the device to close without creating spaces. To do this, the screen slides and forms a kind of “belly” inside the hinge when the Razr is closed.
Thus, the display does not form noticeable folds, although ripple as a result of the “abdomen” was observed in the tested device. In fact, the screen does not stretch completely when the phone is open.
Since the flexible / folding screen technology is still in its infancy, much remains to be improved, but it is useful for Motorola and other manufacturers to keep an eye on these details.
Regarding resistance, the company says that Razr will withstand standard use and stressful situations (read users showing a screen that friends always add up to), but did not say how many movements the screen resists before it falls.
Motorola opted for the Snapdragon 710, mainly because the battery is more modest, and using a more powerful chip would require more power, which would jeopardize the design, but this processor combined with 6 GB of RAM provides a very pleasant user experience. The 21: 9 screen is great for watching movies, although the phone is significantly smaller than modern standard models.
The sound of Motorola Razr is powerful enough, the colors and brightness of the OLED screen allow you to enjoy your favorite movies and videos with great comfort. The groove in which the internal camera and speakers are located is larger than usual, but necessary so that the structure is curved rather than creating unused space from above.
Even games are not a problem: names like Ahphalt 9 Legendsamong other well-known, you can very well adapt to the display format without adding borders in any case. The only question is the base, which offers good grip, concentrating weight on only one side. Of course, if you do not mind, as an author.
A quick look, in turn, contains interesting tricks. Some native Motorola and Google apps have continuity features that let you start an action with a closed device and then follow where you left it open. Messaging, Gmail and others are included.
To take a selfie with the Razr closed, just use the classic motion from Motorola that opens the camera app. After activation, the volume down button becomes a trigger. Like other applications, the camera also supports continuity.
To take photos with your phone open, Quick View displays animations for the people you take, as well as a preview after clicking. This is a trick, just to demonstrate the capabilities of the two screens of the phone, but, nevertheless, this is an interesting addition.
In the end, you will use an external camera for almost everything and do not even remember the internal one, except when you receive a video call.
One hour is too small to assess whether the Motorola Razr is a good phone or just for sale for a new one, but I liked what I saw. This is a fairly well-made product with an acceptable innovative salvage offer. form factor famous, inspired by the design of one of Motorola's greatest hits of all time.
We will not have more information about Motorola Razr until January 2020, but by then we can say that this phone will be much more attractive to the public than its competitors in folding screens.
Motorola doesn't say how much Razr will cost here, but if you follow the standard conversion rate, $ 1,500 can convert up to $ 10,000 in Brazil. It would be interesting if they kicked the bucket and sold it cheaply, but all the news is expensive, so this should not happen.
In addition, we will follow the news.
