Producer Zelda did not abandon the joint game, Zelda for the game
In an interview with IGN, the Zelda series producer, Eiji Aonuma, asked if fans could potentially play for Zelda in this game, or even if they could play together. Aonuma did not deny either, but rather said: “It’s rather interesting that you raised this question, because in Breath of the Wild, you also often see Zelda and Link together, so I’ll immediately turn to the idea of cooperation.
Later, in an interview with Jason Schreier of Kotaku, Aonume was asked the same question about the game as that of Zelda. Aonuma said: “Many are asking about this, and so I want to ask you why people think that?” Schreier replied that she was free at the end of Breath of the Wild, and people wanted to play for her. for a long time.
“I see,” said Aonuma. “But I can't tell you.”
Inspiration of the Zelda team
In the same IGN interview, we asked which games the young employees of the Zelda team played, in particular, what inspired them, and Aonuma answered:[Something] I heard that many people played Red Dead Redemption 2. ”
When asked what open worlds inspired the Zelda team as a whole, he said: “When I worked on Breath of the Wild, the director [Hidemaro Fujibayashi] played skyrim. "
Wildlife Breath 2 is not associated with a major mask
When the “Breath of the Wild” sequel was announced, many compared it with the mask of a major. These comparisons were made for several reasons: the trailer issued a clearly dark tone, similar to the Mask of the Major, it is a direct continuation, like the Mask Major for Ocarina of Time, and it looks like the game will work on the same engine and have the same general artistic style as in Breath of the Wild, just as in the mask of the Major with Ocarina.
However, Aonuma told IGN that the continuation of the Breath of the wilderness is not connected with the mask of the Maiora, saying: "The new Breath of the wilderness or the continuation of it will not necessarily be associated with the mask of the Majora or inspired by it." What we have shown to you at the moment is a bit darker.
Wildlife Breathing Continued
The trailer, which officially announced the continuation of Breath of the Wild, did not tell us much about the potential gameplay, but hinted at many details of the plot. First of all, the text “Continuing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is now in development” appeared at the end of the trailer, suggesting that at least the main part of this game will occur after the Breath is wild. This sounds obvious, but direct sequels in The Legend of Zelda are surprisingly rare: Zelda II, the Major Mask, and the Ghost Hourglass are among the few direct sequels.
While Link, Zelda, and Ganon had several different incarnations and versions on Zelda’s extensive timeline, Link and Zelda shown here are certainly the same duet that appeared in Breath of the Wild. Link is wearing his now famous blue Defensive Tunic, but with leather armor and a cape — these pieces of armor look the same as in the Hilian Armor set in Breath of Wildlife. At least some time has passed since the end of this game, as evidenced by Zelda’s shorter haircut.
Directed by Breath of the Wild
In an interview with Game Informer, Aonuma confirmed that Hidemaro Fujibayashi, who filmed Breath of the Wild, had returned to his sequel. While the other specific team members were not identified, it can be assumed that this is largely the same team that worked on Breath of the Wild. Aonuma himself will return as a producer.
Return to Hyrule and DLC
In the same Game Informer interview, Aonuma explained that "one of the reasons we wanted to create a sequel was that I wanted to visit Hyrule again and use this world again, including a new gameplay and a new story." This, apparently, confirms the game will, at least partially, take place in Hyrule, and not in a completely new place such as Termina or Lorule.
In the trailer shown, we saw the shot of Hirula from “Breath of the Wild” (albeit without the towers and shrines of the Sheikhs), when the castle of Hirule begins to rise into the sky. However, perhaps Aonuma simply refers to the World of Breath of the wilderness as a whole, and not to the specific Kingdom of Khairul.
Aonuma also suggested that the Breath of the Wild sequel could get a DLC, like the original did, saying, “I really like the idea of having a DLC or anything else after the main game … People play the game longer and enjoy the game much deeper” . In the future, we will definitely think about it. ”
We were not given a direct indication of when Breath of the Wild 2 would be released. Considering that we have not seen the gameplay, and the development of Zelda often takes several years, the game may not be released in 2020. After E3 2019, official Nintendo of America Twitter The account has a picture of release windows for games that enter the Nintendo Switch throughout 2019 and 2020. In the 2020 image section, games were included that confirmed the release dates for 2020, such as Animal Crossing: New Horizons and No More Heroes 3, but there was no wild Breath continuation.
Of course, this is not the final sign that it will not be released next year, since another long-awaited Nintendo game, Metroid Prime 4, was not included. Since none of the games were publicly submitted for release, it makes no sense to show any of them in this section. This, however, is a public admission that Nintendo has not yet undertaken to release the 2020 version.

Ganondorf, King Gurudo
This section is more profound in theory than the previous ones, since there is no direct confirmation from Nintendo, but it seems that Ganondorf (Gerudo of Ganon) will be somehow involved in this sequel, in one form or another. In the trailer, it seems, Link and Zelda are exploring tunnels under the Castle of Khairul, filled with glowing stones, and find the corpse of what is probably the male Gérudo (as evidenced by the symbol of Gurudo on his cloth). If this is so, it means that it is most likely the embodiment of Ganondorf, one of the men of Gurudo, born in the tribe every 100 years.
In Breath of the Wild, champion Gérudo Urbos says: “It was written that Calamity Ganon once took the form of Gérudo”, referring either to Ganndorff from Ocarina Time, or to the same person found underground in the trailer of the Breath of the Wild sequel, It’s probably the same thing, because the chest of this corpse seems to have a wound exactly where Link struck him with the Sword Master at the end of the Twilight Princess: it was the same Gandorf from Ocarina of Time that was locked in the Twilight Kingdom countless years. Again, this is not confirmed, and the corpse could be completely unrelated to Gandorf.
There are several fan theories on the Internet regarding this trailer, but they are moving further and further away from the confirmed information, so we’ll stop here. We have no idea how long we will have to wait to learn more about the continuation of Breath of the Wild, but in the meantime we always have the first game that will delay us.
In our review “Wild Breath,” we called the game “Masterpiece,” saying that this is “a master class in open world design and the watershed in which the 30-year-old franchise is reinvented. It features a wonderful sandbox full of mystery and overhangs. ” dozens of dozens of painful things in front of you that just ask to be examined. "
