Boy fighting for life after dog attack



The baby fights for life today after being attacked by a Staffordshire bull terrier.

The child, who is still to be identified, was attacked at 1.47 am on Sunday at a house in Yaksli, near Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.

A child who is under one year old is currently in Addenbrooke Hospital in Cambridge with life-threatening injuries.

A 28-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of child neglect, and after the incident, two Staffordshire bull terriers were seized.

Two people were released on bail until December 15, but police said the investigation had begun.

A police spokesman said: “We were called by the ambulance at 1.47 am yesterday (Sunday, November 18) to an address in Wykes Road, Yaksli, with reports of the boy’s concern that the dog attacked.

“Employees and medical assistants were present at the scene, and the child was taken to Peterborough City Hospital, and then transferred to Addenbrooke Hospital in Cambridge with life-threatening injuries.

“He remains in critical condition.
